Disputes

If a complaint has not been resolved within 20 working days of the complaint being made, the issue may be dealt with by a disputes panel. The panel is made up of members chosen from a list of independent adjudicators approved by the Retirement Commissioner. The Act and the disputes panel regulations  set out a detailed procedure for formal dispute resolution.

For disputes about the sale or disposal of a residential unit, no complaint needs to be made first as long as it's been nine months since the unit became available for disposal.

The basic disputes procedure is shown in this flowchart.
