Sorted Kids & Money

Sorted Kids & Money is an innovative interactive addition to the Retirement Commission's personal finance website www.sorted.org.nz designed to help children understand basic financial concepts.

Children aged 5 to 12 years can visit Sorted and go on a ride through financial concepts and understanding in a world of games and activities known as Money Island. It has a unique kiwi flavour that New Zealand children will identify with, as well as being a fun experience.

Children follow the Sorted mouse through a variety of interactive games and activities. Each games and activity has a financial concept that children have to master to gain a special certificate. The certificates for each game can be printed off, and connected to form a large mural. All the games have scores that kids can improve as they master the concepts. If they do really well they can achieve the Ultimate Gamer certificate.

Sorted Kids & Money is based on a financial education framework developed by Enterprise New Zealand Trust. The Framework includes the basic skills, values and behaviours people need to learn to make sound financial decisions throughout life. The framework also aligns with the New Zealand Curriculum Framework.
