Workplace

The Retirement Commission is implementing a programme to help New Zealanders at work make informed decisions on their participation in KiwiSaver, or other savings options, in the context of their wider personal financial situation.

To make an informed KiwiSaver decision, several questions should be considered including:

  • How much will KiwiSaver cost me each pay?
  • How much will I save by 65 years of age?
  • Should I 'stay in', 'opt in' or 'opt out' of the scheme now?
  • Should I join KiwiSaver or pay off debt first? Or do both at the same time?
  • What type of scheme should I select?
  • Which provider (and then funds within) change what fee's?

Answers to these questions and much more information designed to help employers help their employees can be found at: http://www.sorted.org.nz/home/sorted-sections/kiwisaver

In addition, we've produced a free seminar for workplaces and community groups based on our new booklet 'Sorted - Your guide to getting there'. The seminar introduces the six key steps to getting sorted and includes a presentation, facilitators guide and participants worksheet.
